middle class revolt

Happy anniversary, indeed.

I remember vague bits and pieces in the late 80's, when I used to listen to Lawrence Hudson's show on 3RRR, but nothing really stayed in my head. Middle Class Revolt was my first Fall CD, which I experimentally picked up in about 1997, thinking I oughta give them a go. That's right, I was one of those annoying latecomers.

Since then, I've bored the pants off nearly every one of my friends, in the process of trying to tell them how great The Fall are. It's a hard sell, trying to convince somebody that this angry-sounding guy, who doesn't even really sing over a highly repetitious backing band, is actually a genius. And then there's the whole pre-cog thing. But if you persist, it all opens up. Really.
