30 seconds over caulfield

I have grand plans to buy the entire "early" Pere Ubu catalogue in one fell swoop one of these days, since there's a boxed set around (called Datapanik in the Year Zero). It's been hard work not just giving in and buying the individual albums - I keep seeing The Modern Dance all over the place, for instance. I was only vaguely aware that they're still at it, though. Once again, Splendid delivers the goods on their latest effort.

Also, Pitchfork reports on recent Songs: Ohia goings-on, as well as (finally) reviewing the recent-ish releases by Mark Eitzel, Buffalo Daughter and Solex.
