cafe sweethearts

I'd heard rumours of Café Sweethearts' 14 different egg-related dishes on the menu, so I decided to make the most of a Friday morning off and wander down to South Melbourne for breakfast - better today than a crowded tomorrow, right? There's definitely an 80's feel about the tables and chairs and such, so if they leave things as they are it'll probably be hip again in the next 15 minutes or so.

So anyway, I had a twist on eggs benedict that involved some kind of chilli sauce stuff over it and it certainly hit the spot. It didn't quite subscribe to the minimal aesthetic that won me over at Toast in Smith St, but it's more than good enough to make me think about returning soon to explore the rest of the menu.
