that striped dunedin sound

I just semi-randomly found The Clean's video for Tally Ho as shot by Chris Knox all the way back in 1981, courtesy of The New Zealand Film Archive, who tell us:

The band’s mix of jangly guitars and slightly off-key vocals would soon become recognised internationally as the beginning of ‘the Dunedin Sound’.

Song of the moment's definitely Living In Space, off David Kilgour's most recent(?) solo outing, Frozen Orange. It starts off so quietly, then stealthily builds up enough momentum to surround you with speed by the end of it.
