i see a darkness

Tomorrow (Saturday) night, The Drones launch their new CD entitled wait long by the river and the bodies of your enemies will float by at The Corner Hotel with 5(!) support acts. An interview in The Age mentions 18 months of label wrangling to get the new album out, and meanwhile they've just finished recording the next album already. Ouch. The first thing I heard by the Drones was their killer opening track on last year's Wild About You, a compilation of current local acts covering 60's Australian garage rock tunes (not to be confused with a compilation of the first three Saints albums, called the same thing, after the same song). What I've heard of the new album (thanks to 3RRR) sounds pretty good, I'm looking forward to picking it up.
