muslimgauze - veiled sisters remix

According to their latest e-mail newsletter, Soleilmoon have released a remixed version of Muslimgauze's 1993 hypnotic 2-CD epic Veiled Sisters, which Bryn Jones had put together 3 years later but didn't want to release at the time. I picked up the original version for $3 (!) at some record company chuckout sale in Brunswick St, years ago (where I also bought my first two Guided By Voices CDs, at $10 each). It's very laid back - almost soporific at times - there's certainly none of the fire and angst that marks much of his other work.

This is particularly good timing (or not), since after a few months' drought I'd put on Baghdad the other night, with its dubby beaty tracks (eg. An Abyssinian who could kiss fire) that instantly made me regret putting it aside for so long (I'd be interested to hear what you make of some of these albums, Darren...).
