changing habits

I need a new favourite café. Who wants to swap ? You can have my sunny table outside City Café in St Kilda, and I'll have...whatever yours is. I'm not unhappy with it, not by any means. I just feel like I'm going there too often, and I always order the same thing ('cause their bagels are just so yummy I can't help it) - even the one time in recent months that I didn't order a bagel, the person (is it Vicky ?) misheard one of us and brought one down anyway. Not that I minded...but you know how it is - a change is as good as a rest...

How about Alphabet City in High St., Northcote?

If you want one south of the Yarra, in the suburbs where you can buy cool shirts, I remember going for breakfast a few times to a place in East St. Kilda which had the nicest savoury muffins I've had. Can't remember its name, but it's in Alma Rd., just east of Orrong Rd.

maybe start going back to orange again? not/really a change is it?

cos:

well, I've already got Tusk (just across the road from Orange) as my "plan B" cafe. I did go to Orange on the weekend, but I guess I'm getting a bit bored of it.

Blue Heaven on Bridge road Richmond, just about on the corner with Church street. Tiny little courtyard hidden out the back, or sit inside and watch the world go by the window, or sit out on the footpath. Decent coffee, and very tasty bacon and egg bagels or fruit muffins or full breakfasts or just about anything else.

Recently they seem to have taken to losing parts of my breakfast orders though... It adds to the interest.

How about Brewhaha in Blessington St? It's far enough off the beaten track ... does a great fruit bruschetta sometimes.

cos:

Brewhaha's ok - i've ventured there for a coffee once or twice, but it didn't quite have the right vibe for food the times i was there. the menu looked good, though, so i'm intending to keep trying.

You could have DTUT in New York. Great Hot Chocolate, interesting ambience, but I'm too old for that, ahem, music...

I reckon the travel time would kill me, though ;)
