It'd been on my "to buy" list for over a year, and so the day after I heard he'd died I rang up Beyond the Pale in St Kilda to see if they still had any of the Justin Hampton posters of Elliott Smith. It's now mine. The beanie-chic thing makes me think of American Splendour. Meanwhile, he can keep Nick company on my lounge room wall.
