If you just want the details and features and good stuff, there’s a free beta version to play with
but wait!
Looking for the Movable Type 4 beta? We're in the process of updating our website; check back with us in an hour. Thanks!
Perhaps the announcement could've waited "an hour" (or more, as it's turned out)? I'm not unhappy with Movable Type - I run wordpress over there, mostly as a learning experience, but it doesn't seem compellingly better - certainly not for a shared instance that I manage for others. But Six Apart haven't exactly won any friends lately, and "releasing" a beta that you can't actually download doesn't really help...

Turns out there was DNS propogation issues... I was downloading it merrily as my friends were calling foul. Have you still not gotten it?
> Posted by Jesse Gardner at June 6, 2007 1:29 PMYeah, I have it now. I just figured the announcement could've waited a few hours until it was all working - it's not like a few hours would've made that much of a difference, but it certainly looks better...

I may not (so far) run the kind of blog that posts social conscience linkage - other friends seem to have it covered better than I could manage (yes, I'm aware that's no excuse), but this doesn't mean that I don't care about the State of ThingsTM.
