So, since I'll be out of town at the time, I'll miss the chance to see Spiritualized at the Prince of Wales on August 2nd. Dang.

I may not (so far) run the kind of blog that posts social conscience linkage - other friends seem to have it covered better than I could manage (yes, I'm aware that's no excuse), but this doesn't mean that I don't care about the State of ThingsTM.

They're overrated. Saw them 11 years ago and it was just another gig. Saw many better bands that same year. Better you take the travel option. Where are you going?

[i deleted your duplicate post, btw. hope you didn't mind...]
When I was in NYC 2 and a bit years ago, one of the people I met (via my co-traveller) went on about a particularly magical Spiritualized gig he'd been to, so I've been curious to see them since then, but I'm not heartbroken that I'll miss it, by any means.
I'm off to Singapore again, for 2 weeks. I miss my girlfriend. She misses me. And her sister's getting married. You know how it is...

Have a great trip. Have you checked out Brewerkz? I love the place. There's nothing like it in Adelaide. 2 weeks in Singapore should seem like a long time :)

Just a brew pub, but an excellent one. No expense has been spared on the joint. The beer's great. Sunday arvo is the lunchtime special where you can get a good deal on a set lunch and pints of beer are SGD $2 from about 12 til 5pm if you order lunch. The service is spot on, a kind of Singaporean version of American service. I just love the way that they don't frown upon heavy beer drinking. In a city where so many things are forbidden its good to see some vices encouraged. They have a website:www.brewerkz.com.sg

thanks for that, looks interesting. I'll have to give it a go. Last time i was in Singapore (October last year), all I wanted was a good Gin and Tonic, but i didn't get around to having one at all...
