I forgot to mention this the other day when I was going on about The Last Record Store, but following a few links off their website I came across the beginnings of a zine-like-thing called back porch talk, which had amongst other things an interview with Jason Molina (ie. Songs: Ohia). I've seen a couple of reviews of local gigs (eg. the Waco Brothers gig I really should've gone to last year) by back porch talk's editor, Sophie Best, in magazines like no depression. I guess that counts for something. Hopefully she'll come back from the US (if she's not back already) and keep the site going.

I may not (so far) run the kind of blog that posts social conscience linkage - other friends seem to have it covered better than I could manage (yes, I'm aware that's no excuse), but this doesn't mean that I don't care about the State of ThingsTM.
