Happy 3RRR radiothon week. You're probably sick of myself and others telling you this, but 3RRR and 3PBS have both had an immeasurable impact on my music listening habits (and, hence, my wallet). Melbourne's lucky to have so much non-commercial choice. I've subscribed every year (minus one or two, perhaps. it's all a bit fuzzy) since 1990 or so. Last year I won a major prize - a PC, amusingly enough. It's called "afro" after the show I subscribed to (even if I don't get to listen to it very often, these days).

I may not (so far) run the kind of blog that posts social conscience linkage - other friends seem to have it covered better than I could manage (yes, I'm aware that's no excuse), but this doesn't mean that I don't care about the State of ThingsTM.

This year I subscribed to Anthony Carew's international pop underground. I seem to switch around every year though, afraid that some show I forget to support will just disappear one day.
I wonder if there's much cross-over between segments we like? Breakfasters, skullcave, the spin, underground flavas, weird groovin', tough culture, global grooves.. :)

I subscribed to Far And Wide again. Perhaps I should have chosen Local And/Or General, or Bran' Spankin' (from whom I won 2 CDs), though. Decisions, decisions...
