the sound of the sound of music

I'm listening to the two gay dad albums to try and rouse myself from this after-work torpor. It's almost working too, though I'm aware that for the most part they're enjoyable because they sound like other bands (the song playing when I started this post, for instance - dateline - is very supergrasssy). I do wish dimstar wasn't the opener on the first album, because the rest doesn't quite reach the same nighttime-city-movement high you get from that track. This isn't challenging music, but this isn't the time for that.

Gay Dad? Aren't they meant to be that 70s-glam-rock-styled britpop outfit? Or are they another attempt at The Next Oasis?

Well...are those two goals mutually exclusive ?

You have a point there.
