I took a 2.5-day micro-vacation(?) with my parents down to Flinders, on the Westernport Bay-side of the Mornington Peninsula. My photos aren't particularly exciting - I was mostly trying to indulge my sign fetish, take a few pictures of birds (3x zoom just isn't enough), and have something to remind myself of what the trees and the land look like. We caught the rather popular Peninsula Dixieland Jazz Band at the local pub, but mostly just drove around, parking somewhere for a while to sit and read and look around. I suspect there's something morally wrong with reading 's One day in the life of Ivan Denisovich while you're lounging about on holiday, and it probably didn't really assist my general feeling of disquiet.

I may not (so far) run the kind of blog that posts social conscience linkage - other friends seem to have it covered better than I could manage (yes, I'm aware that's no excuse), but this doesn't mean that I don't care about the State of ThingsTM.
