sugar coatings

It's harder than I thought trying to find a new coat in this town. My beloved black jacket, after 7 years, has lost almost every button. I managed to ignore that, but now the cuffs are fraying(!). I never thought I'd become so attached to such a random cheap purchase from the House of Myer. Now? Now it's difficult when I look at other coats. The material's never quite right, or they use zips when I want buttons, or...well, you know how it is. I've bought other jackets in the last few years, but none of them have enabled me to let this particular one go. The harder I've been looking, the deeper the despair. Maybe next winter.
