I may not (so far) run the kind of blog that posts social conscience linkage - other friends seem to have it covered better than I could manage (yes, I'm aware that's no excuse), but this doesn't mean that I don't care about the State of ThingsTM.

I got the new album in my hot little hands today. It is AWESOME, full of gorgeous guitar genius and magical Kilbey lyrics as ever. They are touring Sydney/Melb/Brisbane/Byron/Gold Coast/Perth/Tassie... HOMEBAKE ..and more. Don't miss them whatever you do.
Saw their Opera House gig in July where most of these songs were previewed and they were, they are fantastic!
Did I say I like them a lot too? :)

yep, I went and found myself a copy today (at the relocated Missing Link, even). Sounds good, though I was busy working at the time, so I'll have a concentrated listen later.

Wow - this is a great album. This sound is miles away from their "Under The Milky Way" era, but the difference is brilliant. The production is dense, the guitars heavily effected and experimental, and the writing is excellent. Unlike some albums that immediately catch you with their pop sensibility, this one starts revealing it's true scope and impact after the first few listens. I have a feeling this is going to be my fav album of the year. There is no one else that sounds like this band - they manage to sound contemporary and timeless at the same time. 5 stars.
