ed kuepper - today wonder (remastered, 2002).
A quick visit to Raoul before getting my hair cut revealed the release of the long-awaited remastered edition of probably my favourite Ed Kuepper release, Today Wonder.
This is the album where Ed shows us exactly how much more less is. Every deep throbbing drum kick from Mark Dawson is like a slow heartbeat in a near-empty room with fading evening light filtering into the room through venetian blinds. Occasionally, though, things get up to railroad-speed, on pretty mary and always the woman pays.
The remastered version gives us 8 live tracks from a Dutch radio session around the time of the album, plus some liner notes from our man.

I may not (so far) run the kind of blog that posts social conscience linkage - other friends seem to have it covered better than I could manage (yes, I'm aware that's no excuse), but this doesn't mean that I don't care about the State of ThingsTM.
