I don't blame him for not wanting to be bothered, but I learned something. To this day, when I have the opportunity to meet a famous person, I almost always decline. I usually don't have anything to say to them and they don't have anything to say to me.
Amen to that. I remember (finally!) meeting one of the presenters of a 3PBS-FM radio show I religiously listened to, during an open day. After the hello and shaking of hands, we just sorta stared at each other awkwardly for a while before making our excuses and walking off in opposite directions. Never again.
