via david, Grant McLennan has died at 48, in his sleep. I don't know what to say. The Go-Betweens are one of my favourite bands, and few days go by when I don't recall one of their songs in my head. Much like when David McComb passed away it feels like we've lost somebody too early, but on the other hand they both left behind a legacy that anybody could be proud of.
I haven't spotted anything from Steve Kilbey.
yet, but I have fromHere's some photos I took of the Go-Betweens a few years ago.

This is very sad, and forty-eight seems awfully young to die in your sleep. My boy in London, who drank beer with McLennan on more than one occasion, is very glum today. Thanks for photos.

This one I like a lot:

Kilbey's posted another lowercase remembrance of Grant. He's obviously heartbroken.

I may not (so far) run the kind of blog that posts social conscience linkage - other friends seem to have it covered better than I could manage (yes, I'm aware that's no excuse), but this doesn't mean that I don't care about the State of ThingsTM.
