So if you've been poking at UCME (CallManager Express) 4.1 in IOS 12.4(15)T and got a bit lost with the presence service not behaving as it should - none of your blf-speed-dial
s show up on the phones - try renumbering them from 1.
ie. maybe previously you had something like this configured, because you wanted the bottom 2 buttons on the phone assigned to numbers:
ephone 1 device-security-mode none video mac-address 0011.2233.4455 ephone-template 2 username "someuser" password somepassword speed-dial 4 1234 label "Some Number" speed-dial 5 2136 label "Some Other Number" type 7961GE button 1:1 pin 1234
If you just go and add something like this...
blf-speed-dial 3 1462 label "Somebody I'm Watching"
...it won't show up on the phone.
It turns out (via Cisco TAC) that if you redo your speed-dials like this...
speed-dial 1 1234 label "Some Number" speed-dial 2 2136 label "Some Other Number" blf-speed-dial 1 1462 label "Somebody I'm Watching"
...then your new BLF speed dial (complete with flashing light, if you've got one of the newer Cisco IP phones) will work. It's not perfect, but it's something.

I may not (so far) run the kind of blog that posts social conscience linkage - other friends seem to have it covered better than I could manage (yes, I'm aware that's no excuse), but this doesn't mean that I don't care about the State of ThingsTM.
